| Borni School Builds a New Pig House for Semi-intensive pig farm.
Among the various livestock species, piggery is most potential source of meat production and more efficient feed converters after the broiler. Apart from providing meat, it is also a source of bristles and manure. Pig farming will provide employment opportunities to seasonally employed rural farmers and supplementary income to improve their living standards.
The challenges faced by our community in securing the food as well as nutritional security to fast growing population need an integrated approach for livestock farming. |

WHY DO PIG FARMING?
|
 SHIGF President feeding the pigs
To encourage a culture of team work and networking between agriculture in the education sector and catalyze sustainable development in the community. Farmer’s entrepreneurship will play an important role in community education. Concrete projects ‘Small Scale Farming’ focusing on the link between education and entrepreneurship/agriculture are a driving force toward self sustainability and food security.

 Working with a common purpose
Immediately after release of fund, we will purchase the stock from a reliable breeder or from nearest livestock market. SHIGF and Farmers in the Village of Pangantabi, Manipur, will work with a common purpose for the welfare of people of both within and beyond its own borders. Individuals everywhere are working towards the process of community building. Your efforts will be devoted to the task at hand. The Pig farm is the one of the tasks at hand.
